The market is still reeling from the huge liquidations of yesterday which saw over half a billion dollars worth of positions wiped out and drove Bitcoin to revisit the infamous $60,000 line that we’ve been fighting with since April. Our one piece of positive news yesterday unfortunately had its hopes dashed this afternoon on news that the SEC would be appealing the outcome of its case with Ripple (XRP). Given this development, it seems likely that Bitwise’s trust filling for an XRP ETF will be removed or quickly denied. Back when the Ethereum ETF was approved we hypothesized in the Beluga Brief that the next coin to get an ETF approved would be something mundane like Litecoin, which should have no problems passing the SEC security test. There’s been no real indication of which token we will see next, which leads me to believe it will probably be a long time until we get another ETF approved.
